Sphera is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join their dynamic team in Bangalore. This role will focus on gathering, analyzing, and managing regulatory chemical data from authoritative sources to support global EHS compliance solutions.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data on chemical substances from government regulations and industry databases
- Monitor regulatory updates across global environmental, health, and safety laws
- Ensure timely and high-quality maintenance of over 230,000 chemical records
- Maintain technical documentation and interpret regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with external agencies and internal specialists for regulatory content validation
- Use tools like MS Excel, SQL, and Access to manage and structure large datasets
- Interpret chemical nomenclature and identify updates relevant to sustainability standards
🎓 Eligibility Criteria:
- University degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Ecology, or related fields
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in EHS or chemical data analysis
- Proficiency in MS Excel, SQL, and MS Access
- Strong knowledge of chemical structures and regulatory terminology
- Excellent communication in English (spoken and written)
- Experience with environmental or regulatory compliance is a plus
